Through the generosity of our donors, collaborators, and hard-working volunteers, the HHP Foundation is breaking ground on the following projects:
CURRENT PROJECTS
Breathe for Teens Stress-Reduction Program
Disseminating pilot program findings in manuscript being written for publication in a peer-reviewed scientific journal
Developing and fundraising for feasibility randomized controlled trial for 80 teenagers in a Colorado High School
Firefighter Longevity Program
Disseminating pilot program findings in manuscript being written for publication in a peer-reviewed scientific journal
Health & Longevity Program
Developing manuscript for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journal describing university-based study on the association between tolerance to endogenous carbon dioxide (CO2) and anxiety
Working with university collaborators to adapt for “virtual” implementation a study evaluating the effects of aerobic and nasal-breathing training on the gut microbiome
Education Programming
Developing scientific manuscript describing systematic literature review regarding the impact of breathing practices on stress reduction
Creating searchable, indexable online science library with scientific literature related to the HHPF mission
FORTHCOMING PROJECTS
Health & Longevity Program
Collaborating with a Colorado medical center to develop a 12-week study evaluating the feasibility and preliminary effectiveness of breathing practices on migraine frequency
Working with university and clinician collaborators to build research study validating the use of a timed, maximum-duration exhale test to measure tolerance to endogenous carbon dioxide (CO2)
Athletic Performance Program
Developing collaborations with athletic training centers, professional and collegiate teams, and corporate sponsors to build pilot programs and feasibility studies using breathing practices to improve athletic performance, recovery, and longevity
Working with collaborators to validate the use of a timed, maximum-duration exhale test to measure athletic recovery and training status
